34. Mike Bell – Age 37
Enhancement talent Mike Bell would prove that personal demons can ensnare any wrestler, whether they’re a main eventer or a preliminary wrestler. Bodybuilder Mike Bell excelled at football until a knee injury ended any hope for a professional career. Like many wrestlers of his time, Bell used steroids to gain an edge, but never found success beyond a role as enhancement talent. Bell was involved in the alleged shoot where Perry Saturn beat him up in the ring after Bell botched a move on Saturn. Mike Bell battled addiction and his story was seen in the documentary, Bigger, Stronger, Faster. Mike became a personal trainer and was celebrating 60 days of sobriety when he died on December 14, 2008. The Orange County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as a heart attack caused by accidental inhalation of difluoroethane, a chemical used in the household product “Dust-Off” (an aerosol used to clean computer keyboards).
