13. Crash Holly – Age 32
Despite his small stature, wrestler Michael Lockwood made it to the big time, working in the WWF as “Hardcore” Holly’s lightweight cousin who played on his diminutive size by proclaiming himself as a super-heavyweight. Crash is best known as the man who introduced the Hardcore Championship’s “24/7 rule” which stated the belt was on the line 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making life hardcore for any champion. Unfortunately, a tragic cascade of personal problems led to Lockwood’s death, including his release from the WWE and a separation from his wife. Both exacerbated his ongoing battle with addictions and when Lockwood was served with divorce papers, this apparently drove him to suicide. On November 6, 2003, Lockwood’s body was discovered in a pool of vomit. Lockwood had been staying at the home of fellow wrestler Stevie Richards. According to one report, the small wrestler had overdosed after taking 90 Carisoprodol pills (police discovered an empty bottle along with a partially drank bottle of alcohol).
