6. Art Barr – Age 28
Despite a serious criminal charge hanging over his career, second-generation wrestler Art Barr worked tirelessly to succeed. Possessing talent and charisma, Art Barr wrestled under the name of the title character from the film Beetlejuice, in Pacific Northwest Wrestling, until a sexual assault charge saw him sent packing. Barr reinvented himself in Mexico as “The Love Machine,” working in EMLL, then Triple A in a much-despised heel team with Eddie Guerrero. With several promotions reportedly courting the team, Barr’s future looked fantastic, but he was found dead in late 1994. The cause of death remains to be confirmed with some claiming it was due to an aneurysm while others point to the sleeping pills found in his system. Given his death at the young age of 28 and the mysterious circumstances, Barr remains one of wrestling’s unsolved mysteries.
