22. Chase Tatum – Age 34
Bodybuilder and physical trainer William Chase Tatum had a knack for finding himself in the right place at the right time, leading to a short career in wrestling followed by a career in the music industry alongside the band Outkast. Tatum caught the attention of a WCW personality, and before long found himself working during the Monday Night War as enhancement talent, debuting in 1999. A run with Master P and his No Limit Soldiers saw Tatum get a chance to advance, but several injuries forced Tatum to recover. Tatum’s back required surgery, but he didn’t have health insurance and reportedly turned to painkillers for relief. Tatum worked as a personal assistant and road manager for the band Outkast and also appeared in music videos. Tatum enjoyed roles on-screen, including the films Unshackled and Who’s Your Caddy? enjoying a substantial role in the latter film with Outkast member Big Boi. Ultimately, Tatum was able to get his much-needed surgery, but his problem with painkillers would cost him his life. On March 23, 2008, Tatum passed away from an accidental drug overdose. He was 34.
