2. Chris Adams
British grappler Chris Adams rose to fame in World Class Championship Wrestling where he worked as “Gentleman” Chris Adams, a popular babyface and ally to the territory’s beloved Von Erich family. Adams pioneered the superkick in wrestling, a move made famous by Shawn Michaels. Adams subsequent heel turn and alliance with Gino Hernandez as “The Dynamic Duo” proved successful. Unfortunately, Adams’ later life was plagued by personal demons which led to his death. In 2000, Adams was indicted on a manslaughter case and while out on bail, an alcohol-fueled altercation turned fatal when Adams’ friend Brent Parnell shot him to death. Adams was 46.
